A new chapter was written - thanks to your support
Dear Waram Supporters,
We are thrilled to announce that the first coding bootcamp, funded by your generous donations, has successfully graduated! This milestone marks a significant achievement in our shared mission to empower young minds through education.
43% of our program participants were female with an age range of 18 to 46 years old
Under the guidance of Project Director Eleanor Menchú, and the invaluable support of or partner CoreCode the “Programación y Desarrollo Front-End + Certificación Internacional” took place from August 27th to December 3rd 2024 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. In these past months, 30 students embarked on an empowering journey, gaining not only technical skills but confidence in their abilities to dream bigger.
Transformative Opportunities
Over the course of over 3 months, the students gained valuable skills such as web programming (HTML, CSS, Javascript), Vue.js, Flutter and even learned how to build websites in Shopify.
Through partnerships with 12 companies, we facilitated internships, with five students starting their placements and others preparing through interview workshops . The curriculum was rich and varied, including project-based tasks working with web technologies. The Workshops also focused on softer skills preparing them for the professional setting, focusing on resume writing, personal branding, and interview techniques complemented their technical training, preparing our students for real-world challenges.
This program went beyond technical training. It fostered a sense of community, enabling students to form meaningful friendships and support networks. They discovered new interests and avenues in programming, expressing their gratitude for the opportunity to grow personally and professionally.
Endless thanks to our donors
None of this would have been possible without your unwavering support. Your contributions have not just changed lives but have also planted seeds for a brighter future. We extend heartfelt gratitude to Core Code, the Municipality, MuniTec, Swiss Contact, Creamos and all the partners, who played a crucial role in creating a nurturing environment for these young talents.
We look forward to sharing more success stories and innovations as we continue this rewarding journey together.
With deepest appreciation,
